Pencil Day – March 30th
On this day in 1858, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted the first-ever patent for a modern pencil with an eraser attached to it. Hymen Lipman created the wooden pencil and received high praise for how easy it was to use for writing and drawing. A single wooden pencil can write 45,000 words

The National Exchange Club is a service organization with 700 clubs and more than 20,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Founded in 1911 in Detroit by business leaders who wanted to “exchange” ideas on making their community better, the Exchange Club moved its headquarters to Toledo in 1917. Its core values –
